I'm Gabriel, and I'm the sole owner of this blog! As someone who's trying to master Korean, I thought that it would be a good idea to pen down my thoughts and learning processes so that other people can take a look at them and improve their own learning process.
Many people struggle to learn a language, while others seem to learn quickly. I am not a fan of the critical-period hypothesis which states that our ability to learn a language perishes once we go past a certain age, and support the input hypothesis - which states that the amount of input in an L2 directly affects proficiency in the L2. I hope that the people reading MyKoreanBits will be able to learn new methods of learning Korean, as well as discover new materials for immersing in the language!
Other than Korean, I am also at an advanced proficiency in Japanese, having passed the N1 level for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in 2018. I participated in an exchange program at the University of Tokyo and enjoyed my time there greatly!
Currently, I'm located in Singapore and am working as a web developer. If you'd like to get in touch with me, you can do so by contacting hello@mykoreanbits.com.
